Frequently Asked Questions

Should I bring my Pet’s food?

We provide quality food but you may bring your pets regular diet from home.  Please bring a little more food then you think your pet will need. Food must be in plastic or original bags (no hard containers), labeled with your pet's name.  We do not have room to store large paper bags of dog food.

Can I bring my dog's bed and toys?

We encourage you to bring something that smells like home. You may bring un-stuffed bedding if it is machine washable.

Toys are ok as long as they are large enough not to be swallowed or chocked on.  We are not responsible for lost or destroyed toys and bedding.

What if my dog requires medication?

All administered medication will incur an additional charges. Pills are $0.75 per dose. eye drops & ear treatments of $1.00 per dose without flush and $I.50 with flush. Pre-filled syringes are $5.00 per dose. Label all medications clearly. Include the name of the medication, owner's name and pet's name.

How do I find out what vaccinations my Pet has had?

Your Veterinarian should give you a receipt or certificate showing what vaccinations have been administered, the date they were given and the date they expire. You may bring a copy with you or we will make a copy for you.

Required Shots: Rabies, Distemper and Bordatella

Bordetella is strongly recommended, however, the kennel is not responsible for kennel cough since the vaccine only covers a few of the many strains of bordetella.

What if my Pet does not have all vaccinations required?

If your pet needs vaccines they must be administered at least 2 weeks prior to arrival.  For the protection of all borders, we do not allow any pet to stay at Aurora if vaccinations are not current.

There are no exceptions to the vaccine policy.

What if I arrive outside posted hours for check-in or out?

Our office hours provide for periods of quiet relaxation. Inadequate "down time" can cause a variety of problems for our guests including nervousness, destructive behavior, poor appetite, diarrhea, excessive shedding, etc. Rest times are a crucial part of maintaining a low stress atmosphere.

We do accept pets during midday but only with an appointment. After 9:30 am there will be an additional day of boarding charges.

Visitors are ALWAYS welcomed and encouraged to tour the facility DURING our normal open hours!
